Community Impact

We actively support employee volunteer efforts and charities that share our values and our commitment to improving the lives of people everywhere.

United Way

United Way

At Weyco Group, we believe giving back to the community we live in has great benefits and that is why our annual United Way campaign is a success every year. Each year, we have two weeks loaded with fun activities. Employees battle it out in Ping Pong Tournaments, Lunchtime Bingo, Basketball Shootouts and more. The fun doesn’t stop there, we have awesome raffle items, cook outs and more all with the goal of paying it forward to United Way. Employees are incentivized to give and based on their United Way pledge, they can earn a Flee at 3:00 pass, free shoes and a vacation day. Employees volunteer on site at our annual Shoe Box project where shoe boxes are packed with hygiene projects, and of course a pair of our flip flops for those in need. Weyco Group is committed to United Way and matches employee pledges dollar for dollar. We are thrilled that we have increased our dollar amount every year, and hope to keep that going into the future.

UPAF

UPAF

The performing arts community in Milwaukee is vibrant and large for a city the size of Milwaukee. Weyco believes the arts play a key role in attracting and retaining quality, well-rounded employees. Weyco Group has supported the United Performing Arts Foundation for over 10 years. We encourage employees to take part in the arts as well as share in providing this organization funds on a yearly basis. Since 2004, over $250,000 has been donated to UPAF through employee contributions, our employer match, and our Company contributions.

Matching Gifts

Weyco Group encourages, supports and recognizes our employees’ charitable efforts through our Matching Gifts Program. Weyco provides up to two matching gifts for employees’ personal donations, in amounts of $25 to $250 per calendar year to any local organization in the Greater Milwaukee Area that is dedicated to children.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteering is important and goes a long way towards creating a healthy community. At Weyco, employees are encouraged to volunteer. All full-time employees are granted 8 paid hours a year to volunteer and part-time employees are granted 4 paid hours a year.

Places Weyco employees have volunteered:

  • Ronald McDonald House – making meals and small gift bags
  • Milwaukee Hunger Task Force – packing non-perishable food items
  • The Gathering – serving breakfast or dinners to those in need

Cristo Rey

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School provides their students with an innovative work-study program. All students work five full days per month at companies across the Greater Milwaukee Area. Through this program, students gain confidence, acquire hands on experience, and acquire skills that will benefit their future career. Weyco has worked with Cristo Rey since its inception here in Milwaukee.

Interns

Internships are a proven way to gain relevant knowledge, skills, and experience while establishing important connections. Internships are also a way to get your feet wet and find out if a specific field is something you could see yourself doing full-time. Each summer Weyco brings on numerous interns that work in departments such as Design, Marketing, Accounting, Distribution and more. We are thrilled to have these young people on board to learn about Weyco, but to also share their fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

Community Events

Over the years Weyco employees have been proud to help the community by participating in the JDRF walks, Cancer Crush, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and many other events.
